Hello, I am Marc Connelly life long, well since age 12, mororcyclist.
I am fortunate enough to make my living riding and training motorcycles and motorcyclists in upstate NY and have owned a 1987 VFR700 for two years now. Currently I am on the road enjoying the mountains of Tenn., NC, and Georgia.

As I travel, it seems my white,87 VFR700 attracts considerable attention and I keep getting offers from folks to buy the bike. Some are just the normal BS but a few seemed very interested.

Why all the fuss? The bike is super clean, pearl white and stock except for heated grips, HID headlamp,Sargent eat and Yoshi pipes.

If I were to deceide to sell this bike is there something I should know about price aside from book value? A couple of the offers were well above what I paid for the bike.

    Any guidance would be appreiciated.

Good to hear. There is a fairly strong following of the pearl white as it's a little different than the read, red, and more red that followed. If you can get more than book, and are interested in upgrading, I'd go for it. I like the old bike, but IMO gens 4 and 5 made big strides. I like the 5g because we got FI by then. I never have liked messing with carbs. A power commander is much easier to mess with than jets IMO. The 6g seems fine, too, I just haven't ridden one. I'd stay with a VFR, though, if you decide you want an upgrade. To me the one word that speaks VFR is 'refined'.

    Old vs new

I kinda like the carbs as the ECUs confuse me.
I am on the bike for 10 days of riding right now and it is a touch small for me to use this way. At book value I will keep it, but one of the offers was over $4,000.00. That is tempting.

yeah, that would be tempting. I gave less for a pristine 98 with 35k miles and extras like 2bros, sargent, heli bars, touring windshield and all the orig parts, too.
