I bought a 98 VFR and the thing seems to be running rough until higher rpm. I ran 2 tanks of seafoam thru her and nothing changed. I ended up putting new plugs in and blowing off air filter not bad at all and found a couple vacuum hoses not looking right, so I plugged the one going to the diaphram the flapper is forced open. So I went to bike bandit and followed the vacuum diagram. Put bike back togather and the thing runs like CRAP and now the FI light is blinking. Any thoughts? very frustrating since I consider myself a mechanical person....

Disconnected battery and started bike. Ran 10 seconds and idle increased and FI light started blinking

According to the info I've got 2 quick blinks of the FI light might indicate a possible Code 2 Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor or MAP sensor vacuum hose fault.

Vacuum hose might not be connected or is incorrectly connected to the MAP sensor, vacuum hose might have a hole in it,vacuum hose might be pinched or deformed, wrong vacuum hose is connected to the MAP sensor,MAP sensor itself might be bad, etc.

Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor is part number 17 in this pic.

Thank you sir, I just looked at the MAP sensor and seen where the vacuum hose came off, I guess when I pluuled the lower half of the box! dang it....
Does the 5th gen idle like it has a set of aftermarket cams in a car engine?
I drag raced for many and trying to make a change to bikes. I have a Victory jackpot ,FZ1, VFR and my wife took my Kawi ZZR1200!
This bike seems to have a rougher idle up to 3000 rpm or so, maybe a v4 traight?

    Thanks Again.
