Hello all, I just bought my first bike of my own today, I have been riding on and off for about 6 years so I'm not a total novice but wouldn't consider myself a seasoned rider... Anyway, the reason were all here, the bike is a 1986 vfr 750. I dont know a whole lot about it other than what I've read on Wikipedia and junk like that. We got the bike running the other day after being parked for years, not sure how long but it hasn't been registered since 2001. All of the front fairings are gone but I would rather fix the things it needs to ride properly and worry about aesthetics later. The bike is stock except for a beat up Corbin seat and a custom 4-2-1 exhaust with a Vance and hines(sorry if I got it wrong, like I said, it's my first bike.) muffler, and a jet kit. He lost the key so we had to run a toggle switch to get it started, we also had to "remove" the fuel cap(lock was already messed up there) so I ordered a non locking cap for now. The bike definitely needs some tlc and a few electrical bugs worked out but it rides well. I rode it home today but will park it until I can change the oil(3 miles on it and the oil looks good, but neither the seller or I know how old it is.) and hopefully he finds the key so I don't have to take it to a lock smith.
