I have been lurking around for over a year or so looking at the sport touring side of the house.

I currently own a 07 Harley Street Glide which meets my touring needs and Im keeping this bike. I had a 99 Bandit but the vibration was too much for my wrists. I'd like to add an 07 RWB to my garage. From what Ive read the VFR is a good sport type bike with good ergonomics. For those of you that have two bikes - Do you find the time to ride both or does one end up sitting? I ride with several groups and they are more of the "cruiser type" but I'd still like to shake it up a bit and have a second bike. And because Im looking at a second bike - should I look at an older VFR just in case it isnt ridden as much? Everything I own - cars & bikes are all customized and different so I guess that is part of the appeal of the RWB.

    Thanks for the input

well, I had a Harley before the VFR so I sort of know what you are talking about. I got a VFR mostly because it was what I found that I could afford, but also because I wanted something sporty but not a full on sportbike. It fits the bill nicely. Trying to compare it to a Harley quickly becomes just silly because they are incredibly radically different. My harley was old and a POS, but even comparing to a newer Harley, they are still pretty radically different. The VFR in my opinion would get ridden more IF you just ride for the enjoyment of riding. Now, please don't be insulted. I really like Harleys. I grew up with them. My dad even owned a biker bar in my formative years so I have been around Harleys since the 70s. The VFR is a better bike. It's more dependable, more comfortable, faster, less vibratory, and cheaper to maintain. My dad still has a Harley. He bought it before I got my VFR. My VFR has had more than 8 times as many miles put on it, and my costs of ownership are still at less than 1/3rd of his. I rode his Harley when I last visited home and couldn't wait to get off it. It took the joy out of riding for me.

Would I still own a Harley? yep. Would it be my only bike? Hell no.

Probably not the answer you expected about one of the bikes sitting, but that's MHO.

Kind of like Reg said, I'd be surprised if it wasn't the Harley that ended up doing most of the sitting. I'm sure you could find time for both, but you may not want to. That said, you may as well get the RWB instead of an older model.

Just don't let your Harley friends hearing you giggling like a schoolgirl when you crack the throttle of that V4.

I think the later VFR models are extremely comfortable. I'm 5'11, 165 lbs, and my only discomfort after an all day ride is my bum!
