I am picking up a 2001 VFR800 tomorrow (private sale). I have been snooping through the forum and have become aware of the R/R problem, I will check it. But I am the type who likes to be prepared and prevent roadside delays before they happen and am wondering if there are any other common problems with these bikes that I should watch out for. A few years ago while on my way back from death valley I pulled up to a stop sign in a pretty vacant part of the desert and my clutch cable snapped. Fortunately I had left the old cable in place when it started to get stiff so I had a spare and was back on the road in no time. I love preventative maintenance!
