    Greetings,

I’m a new owner of a 2010 VFR 1200F. My previous bike was a souped up and lowered ‘02 Yamaha Roadstar Warrior 1600, so this is quite the change for me.

Let me thank everyone here for sharing their information and experiences with this great motorcycle. I feel much more confidence in making such major purchase when I am armed with so much rider feedback, both good and bad.

I’ve had it about a month and have put about 2400 miles on it. At 5’11”, I found the reach to the handlebars to be a little long for me, but new heli-bars seem to have resolved that problem.

I was really concerned about the low rpm jerkiness that many have commented on. I put a PCV on it Friday night. Now, I’m no mechanic, but using the tips in the PC threads from this forum and some youtube vids I was able to remove the farings and install the PCV, including the friggin O2 sensors, and then put it all back together again. I bet the dealer would have bent me over to install it.

I took it to the Blue Ridge Parkway on Saturday (Boone north to Hwy8). I can’t believe the difference the PCV makes, on just a stock bike. Now it’s smooth between 3000 and 4000 rpms. Folks here were right. It’s like a totally new motorcycle. I had not realized how much I was babying it in the corners due to being worried about what the engine was going to do while leaned over in something tight. Don’t buy this bike without installing one of these! The improvement is that impressive.

Thanks again for having this forum. It’s a great resource!

    See ya!

Nice bike. The only pvc's that I know of are positive crankcase ventilation and Poly vinyl chloride. Your pvc sounds way more sophisticated than either of my definitions.

I rode some of the blue ridge parkway on my 71 tiger once, Extremely scenic. Seems like the speed limit was something like 35.

There is a rumor floating around that " Go for a ride" is "camos" love child. Please confirm or deny this ASAP.
