Want to give a shout out and to let everyone know I am new to the forum and purchased my 02 VFR last spring. Loving every minute of it and have been so busy riding that I haven't been able to post. I live in Santa Fe, TN and would love to hook up with other Nashville riders. This is my first Honda. I have owned: Kawasaki 440, Harley Sportster, Buell, Indian Chief, and a Vrod. Out of all of the bikes I have owned I would have to say the VFR wins. I have raced both the Sportster and the Buell at the drag strip. The Sporty was a 1426cc motor that I built and ran 10.90's and the Buell was a 1200 running Nallin racing heads, 13.1 compression, cams, and tuned fuel injection that netted 10.20 1/4 mile. I would like to do some performance gains to the Vfr; but don't know of any sights that sale high compression pistons, cams, or big bore kits. The exhaust is stock gutted and sounds good. I am tempted to tear into the catalyc converter, but don't know that it will net me any power. Any suggestions from you avid Vfr performance riders. Have a safe and blessed weekend, Preacher Near Nashville, TN :third:
Dynamo Humm makes a kit listed for the 98-01. I'm pretty sure the engine internals are the same but you would have to call them to makes sure. http://www.dynamohumm.com/Scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=20601 There is a very strong reason for the lack of hp increasing products on the market for VFR's. That reason you ask? There isn't a need for them. 95% of the people who buy VFR's buy them because they aren't a torture rack 30 minute race bike. We buy them to be a bike that does everything (except off-roading) & does it extremely well. If you need to race something, that's what they make squid bikes for. If I can offer some advice, leave the bike's engine alone and enjoy it for what it is. Put a pipe on it to hear the soundtrack that only a FI'd V4 can provide. If you're looking for something to race, by a used 600 and turn it into a track only bike. Just my $0.02... KC-10 FE out...
