Hi everyone. Just letting ya know I picked up an `06 Pearl Black Interceptor with 2 miles on it last week and I do truly love it. Haven`t been able to try out the V-Tec yet (for first 600 miles) though I want to know what it is like when it engages. My buddy picked up his 600rr a month ago and wants me to rail the canyons to see if I can keep up. I think I will take it easy until the 600mile mark passes. Can`t wait to go ride some more. Late

Hey street. Welcome to the group. Congrats on your purchase. Not sure what kind of bike you are used to riding, but best advice I can give is to take is easy and learn the characteristics of the bike and get comfortable with how it rides and handles. It's heavier than your friends 600rr (or most any other sport bike) as I am sure you have probably noticed and will handle differently. You'll get to experience that V-Tec soon enough. :thumb:

The best description for the VTEC kicking in that I can think of is the way the power band kicks in on an old style two stroke but it is lot more predictably and a hell of a lot better handling. Assuming you have had the pleasure of a performance two stroke motorcycle.

Vman. This is my first bike. Period. And it may just be my last(The Keeper). I just got back from a 150 mile ride and I couldn`t believe all the looks I was getting. The bike is heavy though when at stops due to my feet just barely touching the ground and it kind of wants to go one way or the other. Thanks for the advice.

Nope. I have watched but never ridden a two stroke M/C. I have heard they are on there way out from a friend due to emissions or something like that. He said that thw powerband for a two stroke is at high rpm and doesn`t last very long. I hope the VTEC is worth the wait.
