    Greetings everyone!

I decided years ago that I wanted a VFR, and finally found myself in a position to buy one without putting myself in debt. I've been reading for months about the various generations, and the pro's and con's of each one. After probably 6 months of research I decided that I wanted a 5th generation model.

Last week I found a beauty - a 2001 with a Corbin seat, a taller Corbin windshield, and Heli Bars. The best part is that it had a WHOPPING 5,800 miles on it! It was 400 miles away from me and I ended up buying it for $4,500. I think I did pretty well.

I trailered it home because it was below freezing all weekend in my area. I put 20 miles on it yesterday in 34 degree temps, and I can already tell that it is an amazing machine!

I previously owned a 1993 Honda Nighthawk 750 that I bought new and rode for 30K miles (with only one minor headlight problem). A friend of mine bought it from me yesterday so it is in its new home, with a brand new rider who is getting my help getting started in the world of motorcycling.

Anyway, I wanted to introduce myself, and share a couple pictures of my new bike.

looks like you've found a winner, and she's found a nice kennel to stay out of the snow in. Thanks for rollin' em out for a family foto.

Welcome, clean bike, great price! I looked for a good 5th Gen for a while but was not able to find a decent one with reasonable miles on it. Congrats!

Thanks everyone. I'm thrilled with the bike - it is as clean as could be with only 2 VERY minor flaws that will be easy to correct when the temperature cooperates.

It's thanks to the information on the forum that I now have my 2001 model. Hours and hours of research paid off and I am certain that I made the right choice by going with the bike I now have! As a father of three children I normally frown upon whining, but I do love the whine of those gears.... :lalala:

I love that Candy Tahitian Blue, and I really wish Honda sold the VFR in the US in that color. Maybe I should start saving towards a paint job...

Welcome...Congratulations! I cannot believe some of the occasional low mileage VFRs out there. You truly had some luck (and some hard work looking on your part). Enjoy the whine!
