New VFR owner in Texas

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Im located in N Texas Ive been riding for a while on many diffrent bikes. Had been wanting a VFR for a few years but never found the rite one until now. Over the weekend I was contacted by a friend on F.B and he offered me what I think is a great deal on a 98 VFR. So $600 later here I am. I cant wait to share this journey im about to undertake with all of you in the VFR world... Any advice would be greatly appreciated as well as any help locating the parts im in need of which I have listed in the wanted area of the classifieds.

 

Welcome to the world. Can't help with your quest but I am sure you will find some success here. I would love to visit Texas sometime. I think I have the wife convinced to 'RV it down that way this winter.

 

$600 is pretty damn cheap. What kind of shape is the bike in?

Did you know that Canada is the US's largest supplier of ice and snow for 7_Eleven snow cones and slurpies?

 

She had ben sitting for only about a year. I drained the fueland changed the oil ect. Put a new battery. Fresh fuel and oil and filter and she fired rite up runs great. Has 34k on the clock. Needs a chian and spockets in avery bad way. And complete fairing kit minus the rear and some tires which I have a set I took off a bike last season. Ill post some pics as soon as ican get photo bucket to accept my darn password.

I am in Shreveport/Bossier if you get over to east Texas let me know I will meet up and ride some of the backroads with ya'll. Randy if you get down let me know i will show you around the LA area. Lots of stuff I see on a daily that people from outside of here say is nice. lots of roads around lakes and swamps. not sure if you are a duck dynasty man but if you are I am only about an hour - to and hour and a half from there shop. usually the guys are there minus willie. he is always traveling unless there shooting the series.

 

Would love to get in that way. But I think it is a bit of a pipe dream for me, but a dream none the less. I am not big on a lot of the new TV programs but did kinda like that Moonshiners series.

I used to visit my brother in Manitoba and always took over a bottle of Crown Royal Limited Edition. He would put that up in his cupboard and then feed me his own shine which was horrible tasting shit. I brought some home and used it as weed killer on the driveway.

 

just thought I'd check in with Y'all been a intresting journey so far with this ol bike. Got the fairings repaired and ready for paint clear led tail light pretty cheap ect and shes been riden a few hundred miles so now the real work begins (had to make sure she was gonna hold together before putting alot of money and sweet into her) Ill get pics uploaded soon..
