    Hi everyone!

I'm a new member here and I just bought my first VFR... a wrecked '01. I've been riding for many years and ride street, track and dirt, too! The VFR 800 is the first bike in the sport touring class I've owned, so I'm looking forward to a little more comfort for longer rides and camp outs.

    See you around!

Pics? Well, no pics of the VFR yet, but here's some pics of my random motorcycle adventures: (you probably shouldn't have asked) :)

And you guys can check out my youtube channel at galen0yzf600r's Channel - YouTube

I've done videos of several tracks in the PacNW. You can see Portland Intl Raceway, Oregon Raceway Park and Pacific Raceway on there now. More to come when I get a track bike together... for the track junkies among us, anyway.

Welcome to the site. Vancouver eh. Hootch is from Vancouver. He was kind enough to host me over night on my first trip to SLO a few years back. Wonderful family they are.

I will be speeding right on thorugh your village sometime in April on my way to Mexico. Is that bottle neck still there crossing over to Portland. I gotta get my timing right so I don't hit that during rush hour.

BTW. SHould we be expecting to see little baby Yammies in the near future or were you being safe?

    I always wear protective gear...

Make some time available when you pass through Vancouver and I'll take you on one of my favorite runs. It's a about a 160 mile loop that can be had in 3 hours if a brisk, steady pace is maintained. Very fun, about 80% awesome twisties, 20% slab.

The bottleneck on I-5 between Vancouver and Portland causes the most trouble when you're traveling northbound. Southbound traffic usually moves right along. You'll probably run into more southbound traffic going through Seattle and Tacoma on I-5.

I may hit you up on the way back. Going down I am trying the border to border in 24 hours Iron Butt. If my math is correct, I should have a couple hours of breathing (napping) space. But coming back I have about a month and half to get here. Seattle has been good to me both times before but Vancouver to Portland got me as I headed out from Vancouver first thing in the morning from Hootch's place. I want to make sure I go through LA in the middle of the night cause that is where I suspect my biggest slwdown will be. Second trip, I cut across to the coastal highway from Olympia.

Yeah, avoid leaving Vancouver in the morning... there's gonna be commuter traffic. After 9:30 AM it clears out...

Good luck on your trip! Sounds like a helluva run. Drop me a line if you wanna see some roads around here on your way back home...
