Have browsed this site for a couple of days...
Just bought an '02 VFR, looking forward to upgrading/improving it. Has Power Commander and Stainetune, no other known mods.
Interested in charge sys. RR/VFRnes replacement advice (is it necessary?), cooling system improvement, after market bars (Heli or other, without hose/cable mods), peg lowering kit, aftermarket seat (Corbin, Sargent or other?), anything else that should be considered...
looking at existing threads for these items, but would like to know if some of the above mods are worthwhile from those who have used them...
    thanks
...profile photo is a middle '50s NSU SuperMax, my Dad had one when I was a kid...

    Welcome to the site, Moto.

Things like the seat, pegs and bars are all obviously personal preference.

As far as the R?R VFRness is concerned: There's certainly people that have never changed it and been fortunate enough. But with all the well know and documented failures on this, if you have the $ to spend, its kind of like sleep insurance. Nice to know you've taken care of an inevitable problem.

There was also a recall on the 2002 through 2005? 6? models. You should find out if this has been done. I think if it was done, a "stamp" or other marking was made to the VIN tag. If not, you can probably call a Honda dealer, run the VIN by them, and they should be able to tell if it was completed.

Like Pliskin mention the R/R failure are existing, it is a good Ideas to have the R/R as spare incase you are on the road........a few members here got problem with R/R while on the road trip and luckyly they have spare and replace it. As for recall 02 to 05 hardness replacement should be done at no charge. Contact your local stealership they can run the Vin# and will tell you if this issue has been done or not.
BTW wellcome to the madness :) ride safe and keep the rubbers side down.
