Hi! just bought a vf500. It is my first motorcycle. I have a nasty habit of buying 500 cars. i saved my money and bought this bike. I dont want this bike to end up like my cars. I can turn a wrench, fabricate some parts, and love a machine.... but i am cursed with keeping a vehicle for more than a couple years.
I want this bike to last me 3 years. that's my goal.
    -Project outline-
    -New sealed battery
    -Gravity feed fuel
-Clean...Deep deep deeeeep clean ( thinking seafoam, kerosene, and degreaser )
-New clutch and brake levers (brake lever broke in half)
-New handle grips ( stock foam grips too big)
-New mirrors ( right side broke and too tall)
-All new turn cignals back and front
-Drilled rotors if I can find any ( links, stores, brands, and any help appreciated!)
-Repair front fairing, tail fairing, and purchase bottom cowl. I have one side fairing thats perfect but keeping it off till i have the other side.might stay naked!
-New basics ( air, fuel, and oil filters, oil, and spark plugs)
    -Buy kickstand
-lube or fix choke, throttle, and turn signal control.....all pretty sticky feeling
-Lastly and leastly perfect plastics!?! get painted with white head faded to sea blue tail.
---- wait and dear god please somebody please sell me a PETCOCK LEVER/KNOB.......PLEASE!!!!!
oh and i have no clue how to use this forum with an android smart phone. any help or advice with posting pics or fixing bike would be appreciated
