    Hello all,
I've spent a few hours searching and reading, looks like a great group of helpful people here.
I've recently acquired an 86 VFR750F that has been sitting for quite some time. I've been eyeballing this bike for almost 2 years. I enjoy projects, my last one was/is my daily bike now. 1984 Magna 700. I'm still tinkering and adjusting here and there but it's a fun bike.

Back to the VFR.....I was helping a friend with the charging system of one of his friends bikes and once we came to a starting point for repair we were talking as I was leaving. He had asked me to bring my truck and I figured it was because I had asked him if I could use his carb sync tool. As we walked out of the garage, he said lets move this bike and load that VFR into your truck. Imagine my surprise!!! It's now sitting in my little workshop/man cave waiting for me to begin work. Wife came out and looked at the bike, smiled and walked back in the house. She understands I just have to keep myself busy and projects like this keep me sane. I just have some things on the honey-do list that need attention before going all out on the bike.

I notice my bike has a white front fender. I've not seen a single R/W/B bike with a white fender and have been told that for the US market all the 750's were R/W/B in color designation. I did pull the seat and the color codes are NH-138 and NH-138H which is shasta white. I'm trying to figure out at this point where it's initial point of sale was to see if this is an imported bike. I have learned that Europe/Canada and such had the white offered. My goal is to bring it back to stock appearance. I'm sure the plastics are going to be a bear to find.

Thanks in advance for the questions I'm sure to ask.
    Ed

Here are a couple of pics before I tucked it into a corner.

Welcome, looks like a nice project. And you're lucky, I think the friend and wife are keepers!

Quick update: After 15 or more years, it runs!! Not great but it runs enough for me to take more pictures, disassemble, clean and begin the reassembly. I got my carbs back and have just had them sitting in the house waiting for warmer weather. I also had to make a remote fuel container. 20150309_210225[1].jpg 20150309_210250[1].jpg 20150309_210236[1].jpg

Congratulations. As far as I know the 750 was only sold in the US in 1986 and only in RWB. The 700 was the same in 86 and I think was sold in pearl white or a dark blue in 87. Euro white bikes have black engine cases and the U.S. models had a sandy gold colour.

Thank you Cadbury, I'm still trying to figure out where, when, what size and so forth. This bike has the shasta white color codes and does have black engine cases. It's definitely a 750. I'm still trying to see if I can find out the original destination for it.
