Well I just had to become a member since I owned my 89 vfr for over a year now. It's in the garage for new tires, chain & sprockets. I just finished flushing coolent system , all brake/clutch fluids & oil & filter .I've ordered a K&N air filter & that's the extent of that's done to the bike. I'm not new to riding having owned a 1976 Moto Guzzi v7 Sport for 10 years, prior a Honda CB350 for 3 years, Then I stopped when the family came along....... Now I'm back & You will have to prior my dead hands off the bars for me to stop riding again. Throughout the years ,not riding ,I keep up with the industry & when I stopped into a local motorcycle shop & saw this 89 VFR800 for sale THAT WAS IT !!! ...Hell, was my wife SURPRISED when I showed up on this bike !!!! You see mt 2 sons ride on the street & that was "THE REASON" I had to get a bike... Family Bonding . I will end on this note My Bike is a 5th gen VFR I've have serial # ending ...000090 Is there anyonr out there with lower?

Hey 1 shot kill; I am pretty new to the VFR brotherhood also,and profess to not knowing everything about the VFR; but I am pretty sure an 89 is not a fifth gen. bike.Anyway I really like your attitude on riding, you know the dead hands thing! eddie
