    Hi

I am Philipp and I just bought my winter project a 1998 VFR800Fi with 104,000km. While the motor purrs, a few things require some work before she is save to take out. I have the tendency to find the hard luck cases in motorcycles ever since I started riding almost 4 years ago. Since then I have made long tours into the States and up to Tofino and the Sunshine Coast from Kelowna, BC (Canada's California... including drought).

I was lucky enough to have ridden, cruisers, sports bikes, tourers, and bobbers in this time frame and even had clients lend me their bikes for the long trips. I bought the VFR800 after seeing her and finding the price unbeatable and once I sat on her I knew that she would be my first proper bike (after starting on a 1985 Rebel CMX250, and my also put together 1989 Suzuki GS500E).

I feel I am still a new rider and definitely regret not having started earlier but now I am learning as I am going as far as repairing and rebuilding bikes go (the Suzuki was a complete rebuilt with minimal work done on the actual engine). Being a tech guy I figured that going into the mechanical (with my grandfather having been a Bosch Engineer) wouldn't be too difficult... famous last words as I opened a lot of cans of worms with my Suzuki Rebuild.

    Anyway this is me ;)

    Thanks
    Philipp

PS: Ignore the mess in the garage that is still from the "Suzuki oil pan, valve shim debacle of 2015"
