Hi guys, Just moved to Denver from Mass.

Just picked up a 98 and love it... I had a 91, 5 years ago and I'm back!

My bike didn't come with tool kit and rather than pay $90 for a new one
can somebody give me a clue which 'special' tools there are in the kit
that I can't just piece together from Autozone etc. I'll order the special
ones from bike bandit or something.

    Thanks!

    Rich

Howdy welcome back to the VFR world, Whew Denver has some mighty fine roads especially out of Loveland Mmm, fwiw I'd be looking at ebay for the right tool kit, as there's some tricky little pieces I'm pretty sure that you won't find. Alsotake a look at Service Honda they have great prices for this sort of thing.

The main thing would be the chain adjust spanner thingy. Other than that if you have the normal sockets and open/closed end box wrenches you should be ok.

Chain Adjust spanner thingy.. I think I know which part you mean.
    It's called a spanner?

Actually I think Sevice Honda has the whole tool kit for only $51 !!
That's sweet... I think I'm just going to buy the whole thing. It kinda
pisses me off that the guy lost the tool kit on this bike.

The chain adjust spanner thingy is only 17.00 bucks at my local Honda shop, and that is for an OEM one!

I had to order one sometime ago. Other than that tool, just use your regular socket sets, etc.!
