Well that didn't take too long! I have a nice looking red fifth gen in the garage that I picked up this afternoon with only 10k miles on the clock. It has a rear storage locker and a throttlemeister but is otherwise stock. This is my first VFR with a center stand! It looks kinda goofy down there but has come in handy already. It still amazes me how many of these bikes are sitting in what are essentially time capsules all over the country. They sit covered in dust till someone comes along and gives them some love and a good long ride. My ride home from just north of Milwaukee was fun dodging thunderstorms all the way. I did get wet but I really didn't care. I had a scare when I stopped to fill er up and she would not turn over after. I thought "oh shit another RR unit failure" and here along way from home in the damn rain. I decided to bump start it to see if it would fire and it did first shot. After that I didn't shut it off again and it kept going, thank god! I will check the system tomorrow and install a volt meter and warning light in case the issue is intermitent. It probably will need a RR before this is over. It is good to be back!
