Hi all! I'm new here so I thought I'd take the opportunity to introduce myself. I'm Matt. I've been riding for a few years and mostly stuck to sport bikes. I have had a couple of ZX-6R's and generally stuck to Kawasaki's. I've loved them all.

I recently had my bike totalled by a careless driver and found myself in need of something a little cheaper all round. I have ridden just about everything on the market today from all the top brands (I have a very generous local dealership) but couldn't think of anything I wanted to live with every day. Even though a friend of mine already had a VFR it never really occurred to me but having thought of it I just had to try.

I rode the 2005 VTEC model for 1 hour 30 minutes before returning late to the dealership with a smile on my face. The guy just said "I know. I'll get the paperwork."

I've very quickly fallen for the VFR and hope the old beast can take me through many happy miles.

Your past sounds a little like mine. My first bike was a VF500, then I moved to the CBR600 for a number of years in the early 90's. The CBR was a great bike, but I missed the VF. Once I returned to my roots, I've never gone back. I don't think you'll regret your decision. Welcome to the forum.

    Welcome aboard!

I never gave the VFR a second look either, until I rode one.

Thanks everyone. I had a couple of weeks recently where I was ready to give up the bike. I had a loaner CBF1000 which was a death trap and just not fun to ride at all. Gear box was clunky, it was slow, it was heavy and wide, brakes were shot and the balance was so far out if you let go of the bars it wanted to slap you off it. I was just about done. Thankfully I rode the VFR and now I remember why I love bikes. I can't wait for my next big trip this summer.
