Hi everyone, My name is Steve, I'm from Jersey (the old one), and have recently purchased the bike I always wanted, a Silver VFR 800. I am loving owning it and look forward to putting many happy miles on the clock! Best regards Steve
That's a pretty clean lookin ride you got there Steve. How many miles ont he clock now? There is lots of help here if you are looking for it when it comes to issues that arise. Like if you fInd you have extra money, I suggest to you the simplest thing to do is send it to me. Welcome.
cool. we don't see the silver ones in the 5th gen over here. unless one of you guys on the other side of the pond gets really lost. do you get them up there in the tundra randy?
"Tundra" Isn't that a make believe truck for trucker wannabeese? I can't say as I have noticed any Fith Gens here that colour. Not even in the color. I still think theis new dood needs to send me money. Call it protecting money. I will guarantee your safety from falling satelites. Money back guarantee.
Randy, If I had any 'spare' money I would probably have bought myself a newer VFR, though I do love the model and colour I have! It's done just 22K miles so barely broken in. One of the great things about living on such a small island! We do however have France a mere 28 miles away by ferry so Europe is just a 45 minutes ferry journey away! It's strange how you don't have the silver variant over there eh? I was thinking about a little paint job change, but I think for now I will keep it the way it is, just change the screen and put clear indicator lenses on. Best regards Steve
You know. I wouldn't change the colour. We speak the same language so I wont confuse you with the word color. I am used to that being so close to my brotheren to the south. Anyways. Keep that nice silver grey. What I would do, for what you would pay for paint, Dark smoked screen. Change out the signal and tail lights with a tinted variety so they look as black as they can while still being legal, and maybe go L.E.D. especially for the tail lights. They only thing I would paint would possibly be the rims. Powder coated black might set that off even more than it is. I was over your way last August. It was a riot...literally. You weren't one of those bastards were you? I think I saw you down town Westminster and waved. You didn't wave back. Should have seen the strange looks I got in Scotland when I asked for ice for my scotch. ALso saw one of Liz's pet horse shit on the street while there. Probably the best damned trip I have ever taken it was. As far as mileage goes, yours and mine are different beasts. But my 06 has about 150,000 km and runs like a clock. Escept when it is falling off the truck. Another tail to be sure.
Welcome..........to the madness She is soooooooooooooo sexy. I love the silver. Steeve can you send me the Crossrunner instead of money?
Thanks Scubalong! I'm not a big fan of the Crossrunner, or Crossdresser as it is affectionately known here.... My brother is currently debating between a new Crossrunner or a new 800VFR, I told him to get the VFR, in white.... I love my bike, had a Suzuki SV650S for a couple of years but had to sell it to buy a second car..... Now I have a little more money (don't get excited Randy), I decided I could do no longer without a bike and she came up, my 'Eleanor'. Randy, I hear you, colour or color, It's all the same to me, just one is incorrect! I was thinking about tinting the tail lights and buying some clear lenses for the indicators, and yes, a new screen is a must as the original is getting some cracks in it. Nice idea with the rims too, a different colour would be nice. If I'd seen you, in the UK I would have waved. I love you Canadians, like the Yanks but with a slightly looser grip on reality (that's a compliment) and friendlier, though I have nothing against the Americans either! I live the other side of the UK from Scotland, an island 9X5 miles a mere 28 miles from France and actually spend more time in France each year than England, which is nice as the roads are FANTASTIC in France! A few of us are planning a trip to France in July, a few days of fun on my 2001 VFR, a friends 2002 VFR, a Suzuki 1300, and my brothers 2012 VFR/Crossdresser, probably down to the Pyrenees! Anywho, it's nice to be in touch with such a friendly bunch! Steve
