    ...my bike

Just bought her recently. First things I bought is the BlueFlame exhaust to make her sound like a V4 and some givi boxes to carry half my house and garage.

    On day of pick up

And after a couple of weeks...

Just like to say the E21 boxes are excellent, perfect for me as not too wide.
And the BlueFlame, sounds good with baffles in...take them both out and BURBLE BURBLE!!!

Very nice looking bike. I am sure you will realise the RG sliders are a great addition, as these bikes can get a mind of their own and opt for horizontal parking :(

Where in the UK are you based?

Spoken by a man with experience in this? :(
I'd stick some engine bars on the sides if the fairing wasn't in the way. Seeing has I've had fun (...not) with the brakes in the rain already. Would the crash bungs protect it well if it does go over? Bet the fairing still gets mullered.

She's defo the best bike I've ever had. Started on a gpz500, then to a gsx750, then an R6 then a Hornet...won't have anything non Honda again.

From sunny South East London, just outside Bexley :)

Correct - when 240kg of bike opts for horizontal parking mode, there is not much you can do about it when you are 5'7" and weight 64kg :(

After 60,000km of battering around Europe I still look forward to every trip on the VFR. To be honest the RG's provide pretty good tip over protection but they are primarily designed to protect the critical bits like the engine and low down items which stick out and tend to get bent or torn off in a lowside on an track bend - so even if bits of the fairing get mullered, the rear brake and gear levers may survive a slide, allowing you to ride the bike back to the repair shop, rather than leaving you stranded.

If you are touring, the panniers will act a bit like kiddie stabiliser wheels limiting how far over the bike will tip. Obviously they will pick up some scrapes but they are pretty strong and help protect the rear of the bike. Sadly if it goes over far enough, then bar ends and outside edges of the front fairing will get road rash and your mirror stem can snap off - likewise clutch and brake levers. One thing well worth doing is to loosen the mirror pivot bolt so its only just tight enough to keep the mirror stable where you want it, but can swing round with a slight push. That way, if the bike goes over, the mirror will pivot out the way rather than snapping clean off.

Sure its great to have a flawless bike, but a VFR needs to be ridden so who cares about the odd scratch when you pull up and the front of your bike is totally bug splatted from another day of brilliant riding :)

    Just take care - ATGATT

Congrats and welcome. The blue is definitely cool. I'd like to see a blue bike with white wheels...

Aaaah a bit of sun mmm. Here we have 2 months of solid rain, the government insist there's a drought and we have a hosepipe ban...

Rain no stopping me :D but all the Honda's I've had have been blue, and that's not by choice.

    But I still love her!
