Hey guys, just bought a 86 VF500f and found your forum. I hope there are allot of u that still ride these animals.

Say, just have one question though. I want to change the rear tail trim to the same as a VF750F or VF1000F. Will this trim fit the 500 and will the seat still work?

    Thanks for your help.

I still ride mine. It's a great bike. It was also the first street bike I owned which is why I am partial to it. As far as the tail section goes, I don't think that it is going to bolt right on. I have the VFR750F and that for sure won't work. I'm not sure about the VF750F though.

Fitting large-frame VF bodywork would be difficult to say the least. You are looking at needing to fabricate differnt mounts to the frame and also reshaping/modifying the body piece itself. Not easy.

Personally, I like the 500's tail better than the big bike's, but that's just taste really.
