Just got my 2014 Deluxe 10 days ago, ever so slightly used, but it only came with one key.

Had to get blank from the dealer and have it cut by a locksmith. About $60 all together.

He was saying that Honda cars also use this style key, which looks like two thin keys with a center divider. With this design, the surface area the pins ride on is half of a normal key and are prone to wearing out sooner. He recommends keeping locks lightly lubricated to avoid premature wear. Key is much stronger than old style, but locks are weaker! I almost broke off old style key in '03 in the seat lock, so I prefer new style keys.

How does that work with the HISS system, or don't US VFRs have that?

We don't have the HISS system, they just upgraded their key design.

Personally, I think the best way to lubricate your keys and lock, is to rub the key surface liberally with a pencil and run it in and out of the key chamber. Works like a charm, does not freeze up, if that is a concern where you live, and does not attract dirt and dust or like crap.

I think HISS is a great system but having a coded chip in the key means I couldn't just get a spare cut, it would cost me a lot more than it did you to get one cut and coded! Happy days!
