my old R/R got fried so i replace it with ricks unit and add a vrfness with it. I was expecting a lil bit more voltage from the new unit but it seems lower than most people here. Battery reads 12.9 volts with the bike off, after starting the bike, it slowly goes up to about 13.5 then goes back down when the radiator fan turns on. 5000 rmp reads 14.45 volts -.5 with the fan on. The R/R aslo gets pretty hot... 120'F , few degrees lower when i added a fan on top of it. check it again couple times this after noon and i get different results 13.2 idle, 13.8 @ 5000rpm, +/- .2 to .5 on both from every test. i get same result even when i ground the green wire from vfrness straight to the battery neg.
