just added a super-hawk to the team. (i had a hawk NT-650 many moons ago) wanted a RC-51 forever, but a decent one will never come to my pricepoint i realized a SH would be about 90% of that fun, and prob be a better STREET bike anyway. so i just picked up a 98 SH last week. same owner since 99, with only 21k miles all stock except yosh-RS3 full sys with CF cans and the jets, and SS brake lines ive always said that you should be able to buy a perfectly great bike for $3k, and i got her for $2500 with a few xtra goodies thrown in (and the stock exhaust) this is about 25 miles from the house. only about 20 more miles to the dragon start the SH is a torque monster. feels much lighter than VFR, and def WANTS to power wheelie :vtr2: just leave it on simmer at about 4-6K RPM, and roll it on at exit and hold on tight. its FUN !!! the only thing i DONT like is not having a center stand ( i did get a used CL F/R set for $40) but hell, you cant even check the d@mn oil level without asking somebody to look. that sucks
Big Jim on this board just rebuilt the bottom end on his Super Hawk. Very cool bike and great to see it back on the road. Yours looks great too! .
Very cool bike those SuperHawks. They only thing I don't like about them is the fact that they are carbs. If I ever got a chance to ride one though, I would jump on it!
I had a chance to ride them VFR (5th gen) & VTR back to back during a demo day a little while ago and I just loved them both! I only decided to get he VFR because of its longer range & FI...
