Looks like it has a few layers of clear coat, very smooth and shiny. Interesting rear wheel and mounting axle.

mofo, yeah, it's a modified Ducati CZ wheel. It took some tinkering. The painter is Solomon at Cutting Edge Illusions in Eugene OR.

Excellent! I really like the final product. You think he'd be able to repaint an asphalt black?

Check out his webpage. He can paint anything. It's astonishing the ugly schemes and colors people want their bikes painted, though. But the ugly ones are Harleys. Of course . . . .

God almighty! Some paint jobs make me want to poke my eyes with a red crayon! Green, silver, pink, black, purple or white flames? lmao.
Agree, some of those 20-20's really lack imagination for paint schemes.
    Thanks for the link.

Looks great and no small job either!

Likewise, the rear wheel really catches my eye! Something to be proud of for sure

Thanks, all. This is a lifetime motorcycle for me. I have owned others and have sold them to buy still others, but I will never part with this particular Honda VFR. It is the best motorcycle I have ever ridden.

Amazing looking paint job Alaskan. As others have mentioned the rear wheel also looks just awesome. Bet the whole bike just glistens and sparkles in the sunlight and the depth of color is amazing even in the photos so I can only imagine how good it looks in real life.

Great lookin bike! Now get some pics out in the sun!

Also, would you mind coming up with a post about that "some tinkering" it took to get the duc wheel on the back?

It FINALLY stopped raining! Here it is in the sun. The color is chameleon-like; none of these pics quite captures it. It's a bit darker red.

The story about the wheels will have to wait for a rainy day. The front is a CBR wheel, which required different rotors to fit.
