Forgot to post this pic, this is what it looked like before the re-style. Not that I hacked up really nice stock paint or anything, it was very beat up.

Not bad for a rattle can job. If it were me, I would add some more clear coat.

I think it looks great! The updated Honda wing on the tank really sets it off! You may get bashed by some of the Interceptor Purists for not sticking with the stock scheme but she still looks good.

    Regards,

The clear is a satin clear so its a little different to work with. It is supposed to look like the 'asphalt black' on the '04. I've got 3 coats of color with 3 coats of satin clear on top. All the decals were put under the clear so they are all the same satin finish and protected from anything that may try to peel them up.

I'm okay with the purist not liking it and my defense is; the original paint was pretty much junk and the front fairings were painted a blue (should be white) that didn't match the original blue. So its not like a took a good stock paint job and sprayed over it.

I do plan on painting the wheels flat black with the silver stripe on the rim or possibly gunmetal grey. I'll have to see what I like.

Bravo, man, bravo! Looks great to me! The decals really set it off I think so it looks a lot more professional.

I think I'd leave the wheels the white color for contrast...maybe powder coat them white to last. Unless you're going for a total black out, but I think the white wheels still look great too!

BTW, what kind of prep work did you do to make this happen? Might do this to my buddy's 88 CBR 600 F Hurricane this summer. Either that or a get a paint gun and use our other friend's giant air compressor(guy lives on a lake in a tiny house, yet has an air compressor as big as me in his garage lol)

I'm a little partial to Repsol Orange or Mustang Bullitt Orange (in the case of my bike) wheels on a black bike, like this RC212V Hayden test mule.

Which ever way you go, your bike looks great! Best looking 700 I think I've ever seen, museum pieces included. Congrats!

Oh yeah, ditch the fork reflectors!

MAN! you did that with rattle cans!? That's a fantastic job, I can't get ovet that, rattle cans? Hell, I can't spray paint a 2x4 with rattle cans that it don't look like do-do. How you do that? Temp control. What kind of prep was involved and what brand of rattle cans? I'm always afraid of the paint blowing chunks/dropplets, of course that's the Dollar Store brand of rattle cans.
