    Hey all,

I recently bought a 98 VFR to use as my DD/everything bike. I have ridden every generation since I started street riding in the late 80's, so the virtues of this machine were not lost on me. In fact, I almost bought a 99 in 99 but opted for a 748 monoposto (I was in my 20's) instead.

What absolutely floors me about the VFR is what an outstanding value they are secondhand, especially the 5th generation. I paid 2,000 USD for an extremely clean 44k mile example that was owned by an older gentleman who no longer had time to ride. I'm spending 1,000 on an entire suspension refresh and another 500 on a complete service, which puts my total at just over 3,500 USD for a bike that looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor (and rides better).

Anyway, I know that I'm preaching to the choir (or chanting to the cult in the case of VFR owners), but I'm sure most of y'all had similar "ah-ha" moments.

    Hello and cheers,

    Kevin

    Welcome to The World!

Similarly, I bought a 5 Gen and did the suspension upgrade first thing and did a full flush and fill of the fluids and have been enjoying this bike as my "fun bike" ever since. Weekend canyon rides, long one-day trips and even the VFRWorld R3 3 day event!
