I was offered a free '82 Sabre last week and brought it home on the weekend. It was sitting on 500 acres of equestrian centre, next to a shed, covered by a tarp... for 8 long years. The plan for now is to get it road-worthy, and restore it bit by bit. Apparently it runs (will test this and update once I do). It's in much need of TLC. It was repainted once in the past (blue). After doing some research and discovering '82 Sabres only came in black or red, I've decided to chose one of these colours (leaning towards black). I started stripping off bits during the week - most of the top is off now and I plan to bring the tank in for sandblasting / powder coating next week. I went for a futile scrap yard search today for new signal mounts (but found a couple of signal lenses). I'm looking into the top end oil mod (saw this during my research into the bike).
