Howdy all! I picked up a "new" pearl white 2006 ABS VFR off the showroom floor on Saturday. My previous ride was a yellow 2004 Honda 599 that I had since about June 2006. The 599 was my first bike that I picked up about a week after taking the MSF BRC. I traded in the 599. I was a little sad to see it go, but I'll probably be able to get over it. wink.gif It turns out that I've been seeing this Interceptor in the store the whole time I owned the 599. I wasn't seriously shopping when I went in on Saturday, but they had the price pretty low and had 3.99% on new purchases and I couldn't resist. The Pearl White had been calling to me for almost 2 years and I just finally couldn't take it any longer. Our other motorcycle is an '05 ST1300 that my wife rides (it was our second motorcycle that we owned) and we just recently returned from a 5-day trip to the Texas Hill Country on both motorcycles. While I loved the 599, it was just plain tiring for that many days, covering 1500 miles with no wind protection and strapped on bags. I of course have ridden the ST some (it's mainly my wifes, and I liked the small 599 for pure enjoyment so I rode it the most) and I had ridden a Yamaha FJR a few days before. It was a little more sporty than the cruise missile (the ST), but it was still a 700+ pound bike. I wanted more touring utility than my 599, but still wanted something a little lighter than the ST or FJR. On a side note, I had also ridden an BMW F800ST before we got the ST1300, and it would have fit the bill nicely, but I liked the Honda better (and was of course cheaper). Anyway, to sum it up I had always liked the looks, reviews, features, and recommendations for the VFR. so when the opportunity came along I took it. Plus if I ever decide to sell it, it's going to be a relatively low mileage 2006 since it spent the first 26 months of its life without getting to run asphalt through its treads!
Welcome to the forum and group. I know how it is a local bike shop had a white 06 VFR in there forever and I would look at it every time! Good to see you scored a nice bike!
Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase! Hope you enjoy your VFR as much as we all do....well, not yours, but ours....you know what I mean....kinda.
