Got lucky and picked up a new to me 2000 VFR. Yes it is very yellow :).

Sold a nice BMW F800GT that just never quite felt right. Looking around could not find a ride that caught my eye. Friend who likes to spend my $ suggested a VFR - Good suggestion. Found one right off but family duties got in the way so missed that bike. Same friend improved my searches and this bike showed up. Made a trip from FL to AL and brought her home. So back to the Land of the Rising Sun from the dark of the Bavarian Forest.
Most likely will be lurker on the site. Don't post a lot as I do not have the wisdom of most others.
So my question. What are the two items in the one picture? Came in a bag with the seat cowl and seat pins.

    Best to all.

    Hi Shorebird

    Welcome to the MadHouse

5th Gens have quite a following on here so make yourself at home and if you do have questions (like those fittings) it is worthwhile posting in a separate thread in the 5th Gen sub forum where hopefully someone will be able to answer.

    Take care and ATGATT

At a glance they look like maybe the seat pin could go through the hole and then give you a strap point for a flat style strap. I could be completely off, though as I don't recall ever seeing the like before.

Didn't happen to come with a strap on tail bag did it?

    Nice bike, though.

Really nice bike. Who is the old man? I have had my 2000 since new, its a terrific machine. You should check out roadstercycle.com to upgrade the rr, install a volt meter and you are good to go.
Welcome here Shorebird. Enjoy that sweet VFR.

Welcome Shorebird !! Thank you for adding photos to your intro post. Your 2000 looks great, How many miles, and do you have the passenger grab handles?

Welcome aboard. I've had my '99 since 2000 so you should feel right at home here. I also have no idea what
those objects are. I got all the stuff from the PO and there was nothing like that.

Welcome to The World! I have to say, I've had my 5 Gen apart on more than one occasion and have not seen those little goodies anywhere on the bike. I'm along the same lines as Reg and say that these are more likely meant for a strap to go through.

Quick note to all thanks for the welcome. The bike had 18,290 miles. Yes have the passenger grab handles.

About the parts - I should have put a scale with the pictures. They are too small for a strap only 3/4" high and wide. If I figure it out will let you all know.

Only 94 here today so no real riding until it cools a bit both for me and the bike.

Could be small clip on spot for a tail bag to make for easy off easy on. Either way, I don't think they are anything important as far as riding goes.
