Hello all, i've been reading your forum for a little while trying to get versed on the 6th gen VFR, there is a lot of great info here and hope to contribute what I can here and there. I just purchased a 2005 in silver with 20,000 miles (32000kms as us Canadians like to call it) going to pick it up tonight and I'm pretty excited to start getting to know it

Welcome Grez007. It is great to have you here. Can't wait to see your beautiful silver 6th gen bike.

I have a highly paid analyst who converts to kms for me. But thanks for saving me the long distance phone call, I appreciate it.

Hello Grez007 and welcome to the MadHouse:welcome:

When you get time please swing by the Introductions forum and say hello to the rest of the folks on here. Don't forget to add a photo of your bike or folks will be raggin on you until you do!

The 6th Gen bikes have proved to be very robust (lots of us have dropped them occasionally) so if you are not 6 foot plus you might want to think about fitting some R&G frame sliders and easing off and then carefully re-tightening the mirror pivot bolts so the mirror stays where you need it but is just loose enough to swing harmlessly out the way if the bike tips over. You might also want to fit a cheap volt meter to keep an eye on the charging system - these bikes have a bad history of fried RRs and Stators leaving riders stranded without warning. A volt meter should alert you to any worrying changes and at least give you a chance to head for some place safe before whatever energy is left in the battery gives out and the bike shuts down.

    Take care

Welcome Grez. I'm new here as well having just bought a RW&B 2007 just a couple weeks ago. Lots of great info here, I'm still trying to read through all the good stuff to learn as much as I can about this great motorcycle.
