I have been coming to this website long before I was a member I am twenty two years old and my first bike is a vfr. The first day I got it took it on the highway and didn't tighten my fairings down and lost one. So right now I broke the bike all the way down and going to install some performance parts and do some maintenance.
Welcome Met. The VFR is a super bike, but RESPECT her. She will take care of you if you take care of her. Don't get crazy. Take time to get to know her. We're here to help.
Welcome!! We're of similar age and and I have a 87 700 as my first street bike. Don't fool yourself - this bike deserves respect for the power, especially if you are a small person like me. I don't want to lecture, or imply that you will do this, but I've met a lot of people who totally disregard my bike thinking it is completely gutless. I have an extensive background in riding other things, some dirt bikes included... the power of the bike is great as is.... don't get too caught up in performance parts until you have the skills to use them. :smile:
