Where do I start? From the top I guess, here it is: My cousin and I had identical 87 700 F2s. Pearl white/gold/gunmetal. this was 1994. I believe cousin still has his, mine was stolen in 2008, and I have never gotten over it. I have kept busy with a ton of cars and trucks, and raising my kids, working, etcetera...After my dad passed in 09, I inherited his Harley. Nice bike, screamin eagle 1200, whatever. It didn't fit me, I loved it cause it was Dads. Where I live there are few sportbikes, I have not seen another VFR in five years. I bought, sight unseen, an 86 700. Same color and miles as my 87 had last time I saw it. The seller is delivering it to me this Saturday(March 2). I will post pics when I have them. I have bought and sold cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, aircraft, and equipment for wages off and on since I can remember, and will tell you all I overpaid for what will probably be the ugliest 86 anyone has ever seen. I have worn out my paypal account in the past week getting bits and pieces on the way here on top of it. So, forever more I am the king of buy high, and sell low, and I don't care. Every so often, I am going to get whatever it is I want, regardless of value, or whatever. all the times I have gotten high dollar stuff for a meager pittance will balance me out. Right? LOL! Anyway, it was meant to be, the seller went to the same grade school as my kids, which is within sight of my home, I dont have to haul my trailer 300 miles, all I have to do is wait til Saturday and I am once again a VFR owner. I would like a newer one, but this is an itch that needs scratching, so I am restarting with an even older bike than the one that started this all for me in the first place. I am so late to the party. I wish I had become a member here when I still had the 87. So be it, one world one bike, I like that! I am prepared to get laughed off this forum when I share what I bought. I hope it isn't too hideous for me!

Welcome to the site. Looking forward to the pix when you get them but don't take too long. I have to go for my nap soon.

Don't concern yourself about claims of paying too much. You only pay too much if in the end, you are sorry you spent the money you did. If you pay $12 for a $10 item but got $15 worth of enjoyment out if it, did you loose?

Man, what a cool forum, and some extremely cool members. I am so excited for Saturday! I feel really good about this deal. I admit to being a bit of a bottom feeder. I haven't had a payment of any kind for 8 years. Strictly cash and carry. Not a bad way to do it. I have a brand new camera waiting to be used too. I have pics of me and my 87 going back to the days before cell phones had cameras even! I will scan them, and post them too. Seems like a lifetime ago when I look at them today. Boy, I daydream about finding a NOS Corbin saddle like I had..I cruised the forum pretty good before I joined. What a wealth of knowledge, and so much fun on here. I wonder what the poor folks are doing? It's always a good time to fix up an Interceptor

Whatever you get don't get the 2000 YELLOW Like Pliskin  That is a slowest bike and colour.
Kidding aside, congratulation with your new purchase. Ride safe :vtr2: and ATGATT

WELCOME!!! Enjoy your VFR700. Buy what you like at a price that you are comfortable with. Happiness is its own reward and if this bike brings you some then it was a great deal. (of course having an 86 VFR 700 in the garage does make me a tad biased) Can't wait to see the pictures!

Almost here...Tomorrow, maybe mid morning, the 86 will be here. I scored a white front fender, it's on it's way too. I am the high bidder on some NOS lowers, but won't go any higher on them, looks like I will throw Beasley Composites some business. I better continue this in the 2nd gen section. My camera is ready, brand new, with brand new memory card. I am not sure if this is gonna turn into a resto, or restomod...Dug out the best pictures of my 87, need to scan them too. Hey, remember when you could score a then seven year old bike with 1800 miles on it, not a mark on it, Corbin saddle, Arai helmet, and I forget what all else came with the 87, all for $1500 ? Good old days! My son has an awards ceremony Saturday, and my only time off is from sunday morning to Monday night, but I will get this all together and share it. I wore my old Icon jacket yesterday, just because! You Rogues have a good remainder of Friday, easing into the weekend. I may pop back in, but planning to start a thread in the appropriate spot. thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome M75. You sound like you are about to have the best time ever! How can anyone be disapointed in a VFR in any condition? If it's not the way you like it, think of the fun you'll have making it your own. Sounds like a good deal to me no matter what the price!
