    Hello All

Just logging in for the first time. Purchased a new 06 Candy Red VFR last week and just starting to get used to it. First impressions are that it's going to long love affair I think.

Previously had a K4 Suzuki SV650 which was a little ripper as well.

VFR World looks like a great site.

    Regards
    Arrows

Hi Arrows - welcome to the group! Glad to read that your heart and head are telling you that your VFR was the right choice after the SV. I'd be interested to read your impression on the SV - I'm thinking it would be a good bike for my wife to own before going for a Viffer as well.

Enjoy the site and as always - ride safe and post some pics of your 06 when you can!

    Cheers,

    Skid

Welcome! Looks like there are new people joining every day!

Two of my friends had SV650s. Slightly different models though. They both rode great with plenty of torque, but horsepower was a little 'eh. They're awesome for thrashing through the corners, great in the city, and fine on the highway. Pretty confortable too. I can't imagine outgrowing the power of the SV650, but can imagine wanting to upgrade for features. The cool thing is no fairings, so if you drop it a couple of times the insurance company doesn't salvage it.

I'd suggest getting a Power Commander for your '06. I wasn't happy with the throttle response in mine until I got one. Fixed the 'snatchyness' and low end burbles. Now it's a full on love affair.

Welcome to the collective (resistance is futile, lol). I got my forst VFR at the end of April and I cannot fathom not having it. I love the power and the sound, not to mention I have the only one in the group I usually ride with. I definately get compliments and questions. Some even think it's newer than it is. hehehe

Thanks for the welcome. The SV is a terrific bike, great for commuting and the twisty stuff even though I don't ride hard. Must admit I didn't like the highway rides much as you get blown around on the bike a far bit.

I've only managed to have the VFR out on the highway for a couple of hours but it's so far ahead of the SV on stability. The screen is very good but and really takes the wind pressure off the chest. Still a little undecided about lifting the bars a little and will let decision go till I've clocked up a few thousand k's.

Can someone tell me whether I blind or what but I had a look through the faring and didn't see a radiator just the electric fan with the engine block behind it - must be some radiator in there somewhere?

    Thanks

There are two radiators. They are mounted on each side of the engine. (Just in front of your knees when you are sitting on the bike.)

Thanks. Finally had a chance to have a good look at the bike, interesting placement of the radiators but only one has a fan. Runs hot when sitting in traffic, wonder what it's like in the middle of summer.
