Fellow riders, Im glad to have found you all. Reading some of the friendly and helpful advice people have posted made me want to join and participate. Im a 24 year old US Army combat veteran, now turned civilian again. Ive been riding for years, and just picked up a custom 1985 VF700F. Its a bit of an odd-ball bike, in that I have never seen anything like it, and that's what I like about it (If your gonna bash me for having a rat-rod/chopper looking VF, then please keep it to yourself, everyone has a style and mine may not be similar to yours, but I wont make you feel like an idiot over yours, we all ride 2 wheels!) Ill post some pictures ASAP, but until then you can Google Julian Farnam, and view the bike he built for the Dirtbag Challenge 2010 (Hes the one who built it.) Now that I am the proud owner, I am looking forward to learning all about the bikes history and finishing it to show quality. But before the cosmetic improvements come, I need to get her running much smoother. Ill post another thread in the tech section to see what advice you all may have. Thanks for reading and I look forward to chatting back-and-forth. Dan
