Hey guys, just got myself a VFR800 VTEC ABS (A2 model, 2003 plate) on the Wendesday just gone so thought I'd pop in and say hi

Here's a few pics of her, she's stock at the mo apart from the crash bungs and a datatool s3 alarm.

Only planning to do a few mods but who knows what the future will bring!

    Welcome to the MadHouse

Great to see another really fast bike - its red so it must be... :potstir:

As for datatool alarms I can't say I have ever been impressed, but I guess insurers are insisting on that sort of protection nowadays. Fortunately in France the HISS immobiliser system, and registration engraved onto the panels and major parts was enough for insurance.

I had the S4 red alarm/immobiliser on my Suzuki and it caused endless grief. Eventually I became quite paranoid about where I parked as any sign of a cell phone tower would block the remote signals leaving you with a bike which not only would not start but had to contend with a blaring alarm on several occasions whilst trying to wheel it around the corner behind a building to hopefully mask out the radio interference enough to turn the damn thing off. Manager at the local Homebase store in London was a biker and quite relaxed about me parking inside the store entrance - once I explained the problem and pointed out the huge BT mast opposite.

Same thing happen overseas where the bike was stuck at a refuelling stop for almost 40 minutes :frusty: until someone fortunately parked a big truck between me and the enormous radio mast opposite.

Welcome to the group. I got seriously lost in Southampton when I was a teen. It was very very interesting and at the same time scarey as hell. I always wanted to go back as an adult with a good map.

So over the weekend I installed a givi top box rack, and also some carbon fibre grab rails (my bike didnt come with any) which I got from a seller called gb_moto on ebay, either £100 for those 2 or £132 per rail (plus bolts & caps etc) from honda directly. Choice was easy in the end, also went on a massive 300 mile trip with the missus from Southampton to london to brighton and back to southampton in the rain. Here's a few pics!

Welcome to the World. Bike looks like it is in immaculate condition. Had to paint mine to make it look almost as good.

Any got experience with delkevic on the vtec's? I've seen a few vids and they look and sound great but wanna know if anyone has come across any issues?

    Thinking of getting these:
Downpipes with these end cans which after talking with delkevic they'd do for 505 shipped.

Also in an unrelated topic, does anyone know what the front & rear stock disc bolts weigh?

Since there's not a proper blog area on this site I'll just update this.
Fitted a Puig DB screen for my vtec today, was a bit of a pain as the bottom of the screen didnt seem wide enough and I had to "stretch" it a bit to make it fit but happy with the result

My Puig fit really tight too. Personally, I like the Zero Gravity better than the Puig only because the Zero Gravity does not have those big "ears" as I cal then that are easily broken. The Zero Gravity contours right down from the high centre of the screen to the upper front fairing so it does not have those elephant ears. I think Long's Screen is a Zero Gravity.
