    Hello All,

Have just registered tonight as I'm picking up my new wheels this Saturday:- a Silver 2005 VFR800 V-tec with ABS, full set of Givi boxes, heated grips, crash bungs
Traded in my Buell XB12XT as it was too problematic for me to keep - have lost all faith/confidence in it - although a great ride when it was going !!
The VFR is the 'sportiest' bike I'll have owned and will probably look at fitting helibars at some point to help the wrists.
Looking forward to a (hopefully) hassle free ownership
    Steve

There have been a few recent arrivals from Scotland. You lads over there will have to start up your own Highland Division and come up with a Tartan for VFRW. Can you imagine rifing a VFR wearing a kilt in the proper fashion. OMG. That may not be a pretty sight for some of us.

Welcome to the site, hope you and the bike have many happy miles together. Yeah, and when you set up that highland division, maybe they will give you the right flag! LOL

    Hi again...

Thanks for the warm welcome folks - seems a friendly place !
To reply to a few of the points - I'm from Dundee (about 1hr North of Edinburgh), I will post pics of the new arrival once collected on Saturday - not long now  ...and good point about the flag - can I not get a Saltire flag to represent my home country ? - sure there must be a way of doing one for all the Scots out there

    Hi Steve-R

As you can see, there is a Saltire option (have a look through the profile settings)

Give it a gentle break in over Cairn'O Mount!

Well folks , the new bike was duly collected on Saturday and put to use straight after on a 220 mile blast round our country roads.
It's obviously a more sporty bike than what I'm used to and that would explain some aches to my bum/wrists/back/neck today.
It doesn't seem as nimble or chuckable as the Buell was, but it may just be me needing to get used to the bike. The bike rides well and the kick at 7000rpm when the extra valves kick-in is almost like a turbo boost !!
So far I'm liking it - it seems very well put together and no signs of wear n tear in its 10.5k miles.
Will look at a comfier seat and Helibars I think for a more forgiving ride when touring.
I've a 650mile trip lined up for next weekend - up to Skye, Applecross and Ullapool - can't wait !
ps - how do I add pictures on my posts ?? - Can someone please advise - thanks.
