Hi and welcome to the MadHouse:welcome:.

You will quickly realise the folks on here really like pictures - so it is a good idea to post up a picture or two of your 98 ASAP or it won't be long before you face merciless raggin! Am I right assuming its a 5th Gen 800 or is it a late registered 750?

It is a good idea to update your forum profile (Forum Actions/Edit Profile) to include the specs of your VFR and a rough location city/state is fine, so the information appears automatically alongside all your posts. Then if you need help with an issue, you may find someone nearby may be willing to swing by and offer advice especially if you have a well stocked beer fridge:drink:!

If you have not spotted it yet - you will find that electrical gremlins tend to be the most common source of grief with these bikes, so its probably worth checking out relevant posts in the 5th Gen section. You will find a massive thread started by Rubo covers most of the issues with the Stator and RR, and "the drill" to give the electrical system a health check.

    Take care - ATTGATT
