Still a kid, I guess; only been riding 4 years and I'm going on 64 but, hey life is short, gotta grab all the gusto you can, right? So, I'm on my 2nd bike, having sadly sold my 1st, a 1976 cb750 in excellent condition to a renovator guy. I loved that bike and it was good for me 'cept I was getting concerned that parts would be increasingly hard to find. Nevertheless, i did my first solo trip from St. Paul out to Bearcreek, Montana and back mostly on state highways 2 years ago. Kickstarted that jewel every day using the electric only when i had to. Ran and purred for 3K, no sweat. Got back and the next day the linkage quit on me and i walked it a 1/2 mile home.
Just took the $1500, added 6 more and and gave it to another guy who uses the same mechanic I do- Roy's Repair in Mpls. A-1 man, tops! This new bike is a 1987, 700cc. VFR, F2 Interceptor. Wow! Does this machine haul! Also, it is one gorgeous-looking bike! And maybe like some others of you out there in the world, I like this size bike; Im not interested in anything bigger- and I'm not in a big hurry either. Matter of fact, this VFR is way faster than I am. I admit I'm struggling with the forward sportbike position and I know I need more practice. But right now, I've got a leak in my cooling system and I'm going to have to fix it as there is no moola in the cookie jar. So, I'm riding 3 mile trips on errands until I can figure this thing out. Carry a liter of coolant in my saddle bag, too.
One thing has me stumped: cannot find a center stand for this bike. Holes are in the frame but no stand, no where, no way. Anyone got a clue I'd be happy to hear it.
Well now i went on and on here and if you haven't left yet, I do have a photo for you. But the only one i have is on my website:misterDmusic.com. and if you care to, there are a couple of albums for sale with some free music tracks to listen to. I'll check back here again soon- get some ideas and info from you VFers. Keep riding safe, Banshki

Welcome to the site. Keep your eye out on ebay for the stand. You could look on servicehonda.com but I'm not sure if they stock older parts.
