Hello, everyone My name is Drew and i live in georgia. I currently ride a ninja 650r and i LOVE it but i'm in love with the anniversary addition vfr. I'm trying to decide if the ABS is worth the extra money? I've never had a bike with ABS, but i do think i'm going to get it. Anyway hello, and hopefully in the next few days i'll be an 07 owner!!

    Welcome to the forum!

Good luck with your pending purchase.

I don't have ABS on my bike, but a couple of thoughts: Certainly its got to be safer, especially for those "panic" stops, and in the rain. I suppose there are some hard core enthusiasts who would say they don't want ABS, but one way to look at it is you'll never know its there until you need it.

If you search through these forums using the search function, you'll find lots of info about current deals on leftover Anniversary editions that dealers are trying to move for $7,000 to $7,500. Your haggling and bargaining skills will come into play. Figure for the ABS, the price is going to be an additional $750 (cheap) to $1,000 (expected).

If I had to make the choice, I'd definitely go with the ABS as long as it was in the budget.

Whether you go ABS or not, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Good luck!

I think that ABS boils down to your personal preference. If you think you'd feel safer having it, then buy it. If not, then I wouldn't worry about it. Either way, you're buying a great bike. Let us know when you take delivery.

Thanks i think yall are right its personal preference and having never had ABS i dont think i'll miss it. But it's still and option. my 1st street bike was an 87 interceptor 500. I loved that bike and i guess that's why i love the red white and blue color!
