Hi to all you VFR fans; I am new to this site ,but not new to motorcycles as I have been riding 20 plus years. I currently own 2 bikes , a Harley Road King and an 06 zx-10r ninja. If all goes well I plan on buying a used VFR within the next month. I live near Valley Forge ,Pa.but at this time of year the weather is not conducive to riding. If any one of you have a few extra minutes, please give me some input about the VFR. I am looking at bikes in the 1998- 2001 range. Thanks eddie cap
Welcome, wow, talk about going from one extreme to the other LOL Smart man, you'll find that the VFR will fit nicely in the middle of the two you have. Not sure what to say as far as VFR abilities go, as it is truly the best of all worlds, Really. you can cruise all day, or go rip up your favorite back road. take it to the grocery store, or go touring on a 3 week trip it's all good.
welcome to the club. I had a Harley just before getting the VFR. In my case, the VFR led to me loving riding a motorcycle again. I had an old Harley and I was always afraid something would fall off due to vibration. Pegs scraped way too easily, and I just wasn't comfortable. The VFR lets me cruise if I like or go fast if I like. I can ride it longer and faster (and acc to my wife that's a good thing  ) I ride a 1998 so that's what we call the 5th gen which is what you are looking at. Those of us who ride them think they have the best mix of the sport/tour worlds. you'll get the fuel injection which is nice, linked brakes (some like some don't), mean styling, gear driven cam whine (strange at first, but you'll grow to love), and that great V4 growl that all VFRs have. If you don't have an aftermarket pipe, you'll want one soon to unleash the growl. Your others bikes may not get ridden much for a while if you decide to get the VFR, though.
