    Hi Everybody

New Rider and VFR owner in Texas, The strangest thing happen when I turned 40 in July, I had this strange urge to ride a motorcycle. In August I took the MSf class, this is the first time I felt old(er) hee. My class had 4 students 3 18 - 20 year olds and the 1 40 year old. Unfortunately the class was to fast for me and I dropped out on the second day.

Couple of months later while surfing the web I came across this site and again I had the sudden urge to learn to ride. I decided to retake the class The day before the class one of my neighbors had a 99 VFR 800 for sale. I brought it, I knew I had to pass the class, this time the class was full of older folks 38, 40, 56, I aced it, even did well on the figure 8 which scared me the first time. Since then I have been riding in my subdivision in the afternoon since their is little to no traffic. While reading, several people talked about dropping the bike in the driveway, guess what I did it today. I always stop before going up the driveway, however today when I stopped I did not put the bike in first gear while trying to go up the driveway and I went up at an angle. I dropped the bike. No damage to the fairing, however I did break off one of mirror. If anyone has a 5th generation right side rear view mirror I would like to buy it off of you

Overall It has been a great experience so far, I also went out and purchased full gear, still afraid of falling and hurting something

    Welcome to the site.

You definately picked an odd bike to learn to ride on / first bike

Try E-Bay for a mirror if you can't find one here, you should be able to get them cheap there.

BTW - Where in TX are you from ?
