New guy, finally made it!

Tried joining the site starting in August, 2022 and was finally able to get a registration confirmation email.
I got my first VFR, a 2014 with 13,000 km in August. I'm really enjoying it. It's very light compared to its predecessor, a 2017 FJR1300 which was written off thanks to a deer.
I'll try loading a few pictures.

That first pic sure looks like the Diablo Lake overlook turn out on Hwy 20.

 

I get the similarity now that you point it out. However it's Seton Lake on highway 99 just a short distance south west of Lillooet, BC

 

I had a feeling it was still B.C., but pretty similar vantage point. Diablo Lake is more blue too I suppose.

I've taken a day drive up there from Whistler before in the Summer.

Great to see photos of your VFR. These bikes make great touring machines especially if you have all the factory luggage to keep your gear dry and safe on longer runs.

Factory luggage is very hard to find. Also it appears that Givi and Shad are no longer selling sidecase racks for Gen 8s. I've ordered Hepco & Becker sidecases with their quick release racks. Should have them soon and will be ready for longer rides.

 

I guess this offer (also in Canada) may have already been sold.. Although the ebay link still shows up with a buy it now price. As for finding a white set I fear you are heading for rocking horse poo territory. I think the VFR1200 pannier mounting system is basically the same as the VFR800F but again I do not think they sold the same white colour.

Thanks for that. I had seen it. I assumed it hadn't sold yet, maybe because of the price. In any case I'm not looking for a topcase. I'm cutting back on the amount of stuff I take on tours. My plan is tankbag and sidecases.
