Ive not had the best couple of months with the old girl. She decided to throw 3rd gear out the box and after talking with a few mechanics I know decided to get a used engine of ebay and try and get it in myself .Apart from the great big engine bolt in the V corroding itself in and had to be cut out , the swap went well. While the replacement engine was on the deck I shimmed the valves and set the timing marks spot on( took me a few evenings) and wheeled the frame over the engine and bolted it up.
Anyway shes all back together and running sweet so to complete the job I fitted new chain and sprockets ,set the tension as per FSM and WOW what a difference that made. This bike is like a new machine, no more jerky throttle or snatchy drive its like a magic carpet ride.
Cant believe just how much different new chain and tension has made .
If your chain has been on a while treat her and throw a new one on
