    Good Day!

Thanks for having me! I'm not a VFR owner yet, but am looking to purchase a 6th Gen over the winter ... hopefully do a little cross-border shopping, what with the parity of dollars these days!

I've noticed 2002's from anywhere between $4K and $6K, with prices not really dropping up to 2005-2006 editions. I'd really like to find an anniversary edition in the north eastern states for about $5-6K, perhaps i'm dreaming!

Anyway, looking forward to learning about the bikes, and if anyone knows of a decent bike not too far from Toronto, Ontario for sale, please let me know! Also, any known issues with the 2002 model year I should be aware of?!

    thanks,

    Dan

Welcome to the madness!!! You should be aware that purchase/riding a VFR will render you incurably addicted.

    Welcome to VFRW!

I think there were 2-3 recalls on the '02, with the main wiring harness being the most notable. Other than that, if it's been well-maintained the bikes are pretty much bullet-proof.

I see you have a V-Rod. Not sure which model that one is, but I still lust after the Street Rod - the sportiest Harley made 'til the XR1200 in my opinion. Too bad HD killed it off a couple years ago.

The street rod was a great, fun bike, but ugly as vrods go ... and since HD enthusiasts care more about pretty, it lost. Nevertheless, the v-rod's still a great bike!! I rode the XR1200 last weekend, and don't let the newish styling fool you, it's still a sportster.
