Here is the bike I know that its dirty so look past that and let me know what you think.

    Here is the new seat

Here is the gauges. It only has 14k miles. For any used auto that is pretty good. I think that I will have to stretch its legs all summer just to get it waking up again.

Looks good. I like the white seat cover. Wonder how dirty the seat can look over time.

I thought about the seat cover too. But since walmart was out of black and I have seen white before that looks really good. I will see what happens. I hope that I can clean it easily. A little windex and some paper towels should help a lot.

The work is almost done. I need to get the title so I can get a plate for it and drive it around more. But until my manual gets here I think it done and I think its wakeing up after years of neglect nicely. It hauls ass going from 0-45 in about 2 seconds in about 1/12mile. Very nice get up and go but I haven't gotten it out of 3rd yet.

Can I ask exactly how you did this recovering? My Bike just got a tear in the seat and now I'm wondering if I can fix it myself or cover it myself...

Sure, it may not be right for the purist Honda owner. But I went to Wal-Mart (the superstore with a fabric section) and I picked up a yard of white vinyl (way more than I needed) Also I bought a yard of pillow like fleece (a yard of it, again way more than I needed even folded over) I removed the old seat cover with a pair of plyers and flathead screw driver. Then I stapled the fleece on it with a air powered brad/stapler stretching it from on side to the other before stapling it. Then I cut off the remaining fabric with a utility knife just outside the staples and then I put the vinyl on over the fleece. Making sure to cut the excess. It fits like a charm and will stretch out to fit the seat later.
Took me no longer than a half hour from start to finish.

Trust me you will love this bike... I ride a bit with 2 friends who have been riding longer than I. One has a Ninja ZX-6r and the other has a brand new Triumph Daytona 675... I have a lot of fun keeping up with them on the twisties.

At first I thought it was my bikes shortcomings in keeping up with them at time. As a Became a better rider (I'm relatively new to riding) my skill were gradually getting better and I was getting more and more comfortable leaning the bike over.

Jay the more experienced rider of the group looked at me at one point and said "Holy crap Joel you were hauling on that last road." He has been dieing to take my bike for a day to stretch it out and find out what the V4 is all about. I would not mind riding his 636 to see what thats all about but I still love the V4 sound...

The 2 of them both complain that my Stock exhaust sounds better then their after market exhausts...

My exhaust is very loud on one side and I put my foot over it and all the noise disappeared. I put my foot over the other side and there was air coming out but no noise reduction. Maybe I can pull the end cap off of that one and see if there is a baffle missing or something. The other side may not be firing too. But I don't know for sure. I pulled the plug and it was carboned up and I brushed it off before putting it back in. But it maybe fouled allong with the other one on that side. I am working on putting in a driveway right now to get the code police off my back so for this week I will be putting the bike on hold a little bit.

VF 700 F Interceptor. However, on the side on the engine it says 749cc. So go figure. I want to say 750 then.

I think that it says 700 because there was a tarif or something back in the 80's and it was charged on bikes over 750cc so this may have been a dodge of those.
I was getting crap gas mileage on it. Like 25 miles to the tank and I found that the choke valves were staying open. I put a spring on the cable to pull those closed and its fine again. The radiator drain bolt broke on me because it was plastic and a POS I replaced that with a fine thread 7/16s bolt and its fine now. The thermostat was the problem with it overheating too. I changed that and now I can't get it warmer than 1/4 on the gauge. Its nice.
