I have just purchased a new gen 6 VFR in Red White and Blue. This makes the 4th interceptor that I have owned. I have no particular loyalty to the model range, but I admit that I am officially a geezer. I was shopping for a sport touring bike and almost purchased a Ducati ST3. The silly thing is, the Ducati would have been cheaper. This bike was a product of my wifes preference. My current riding companions have ruined my wife. Last year, my wife decided that we need hardbags to carry more stuff with us when we travel. I dragged my feet, not wanting to ruin my 2002 Triumph Sprint RS. So when we were at Deals Gap this fall, she agreed to add a bike to the garage. So, I am waiting for Honda to send color matched bags and topbox for fitting. What makes me feel like a geezer, is I purchased the Interceptor in the same colors as my previous three, with a RWB VF500F being my first motorcycle ever in 1986. Pictures will be forthcoming after I pick the bike up.

Sorry, I did not want to present myself as a flash bastard, or anything. I am a dyed in the wool sportbike fanatic. I work hard at a job I loathe to enable my moto-addiction. I have been riding streetbikes for 20 years, and travel with my wife doing moto-stuff. I roadraced for several years in the 90s, and still suprise the repli racer crowd. Our cars sit out in the snow, because garages are meant for bikes! The interceptor is as close to a touring bike as I can manage to do, and I am looking forward to testing out the gen 6. I even have the mouldering corpses of two VF500Fs out in the barn. This V4 fever may get me to start a winter project. I should be bringing my bike home this week.

Congrats on the new ride!!!! Post pics when you pic her up!!!! I love the hell outta my '96, and plan on doing many mods to her this coming winter. I could almost get a new bike with the $$$ I plan on spending on her, but you definately won't have that problem, as you bike is newer, and there is more aftermarket support for things such as exhaust, PC 3, etc. Congrats again!!!

Ditto on the new Gen 6 Mk3, that Tri colour red, White and blue looks stunning...Make sure you let the luvelly v4 sound out with Staintunes and if you enjoy the twisties when the OEM tyres wear out try Michelin Pilot Powers they'll supprise you on how much they lift the VFR's already good cornering capability.

    Great News, and congratulations.

I picked up #41 in R/W/B on Saturday.
    It now has 300 miles.

Heated hand grips make it feel like springtime.

I got a call today that my bags won't be in until January, and I am curious how they will look in person. The few pics that I have seen look good. I know it may seem like heresy to use my Interceptor as a hardcore touring rig, but none of the other bikes I looked at were sport biased enough. The Hayabusa is comfy, but the Suzukis That I have owned suffered from dodgy build quality. The Ducati was cheaper to purchase, but servicing it on the road could be hit and miss. Besides, anyone who snivels about maintainance costs should check the shop costs on a desmo! I almost purchased a new Triumph Sprint, but the only dealer [the one I purchased my '02 at] could not tell me what my current Sprint was worth on a trade! After 2 hours+ of waiting, they decided that 2 years of use was worth $6500 worth of depreciation. I know dealerships are not charities, but I was insulted. I am not a prima donna customer, but I have purchased a motorcycle from a dealer 11 times, and am familiar with the process. Blah... enough of my whining. The real reason I settled on the Interceptor is that it does everything. Flexible motor, humane ergos, good build quality, and the head turning colors reminded me of the good qualities of my last 3 Interceptors. Besides, I am faster 2 up than many people are solo. I cannot wait to try out the Gen 6, and I am curious how long it will remain stock.
