Went out for a ride on my '07 yesterday, stopped by the dealer.....came home with this......First impressions are: very smooth power delivery and throttle response, lower RPM torque is surprisingly strong, very quick acceleration, very narrow at the seat allowing better foot contact for shorter riders, very well balanced, seem as or mabye a little more nimble than my 6 gen, noticed "0" lash out of the shaft drive. Only got to put about 30 miles on it yesterday and have not had the chance to set up the suspension, sag, etc. Look forward to many miles on this machine.

Nice looking bike. Is that a Honda pack on the rear seat? Looks like it is made just for the bike. You've got some nice weather now to put miles on. Interested in hearing more about what you think of it after you've ridden awhile.

I thought only druggies and fags bought those things.. Was your tank empty at 30 miles? Was your foot charred? Did the local churrins make fun of your muffler? ;)

Being the generous person that I am, I am willing to sacrifice my valuable free time to break the bike in for you. Will you be able to meet halfway to do the swap? LOL

    Congrats, she's a beauty!!

Congrats Tmausti glad to finally see some people here gettin on them and liking them.

So, BB, by your rational you will be selling your kidneys to get a brand spankin new 7th gen so that everybody knows who and what you are without having to endure your needlessly retarded and ongoing posts further showing what a fucking jackass you are. Tell the man good on ya for gettin another VFR or shut your harleydood hole, jackass.

Let's begin gently by saying you sort of missed the satire by about two football fields.

It is not rational to even put both kidneys up for sale unless the rationale is to never piss again or to haul a dialysis machine around on a trailer.

Unless you know for sure, it may be that "the man" got it and you missed it.

I guess that is what you are trying to explain in that semi-unlettered babble above.

I may be parting company with a 53 Velocette 350 Scrambler I have. Care to make me an offer? Lowballing will get you rude treatment so try to be gentle..

After watching and listening to the video: YouTube - VIDEO : PARIS DAKAR EN HONDA VFR 1200 F

The old gas problem popped up again! Around 14:35 in to the vid he's taliking to the gas station attendent asking how far it is to the next station. About 150 miles he says. Oh my the rider says I might not have enough petrol. Gas guy gives him a 1 liter bottle to use as an extra fuel can. Good thing! Even trying to use swim stroke with his left hand at times didn't help the mileage, he still ran out! The liter of fuel gets poured in and he makes it to the next station just barely.

He then finds out the next fuel is like 200 miles away. So he hooks up with a VFR cross country reserve tank dealer. It's not the offical VFR red tank like this one:[IMG] it's an after market white one. Two and half gallons, he says. Which he straps to his bike with no more fear of running out of fuel. He notes that the VFR1200 reserve tank business is starting to boom out in areas like this. Mmmmmm might be worth looking in to.

The journalist says he loves the bike otherwise. It's beyond what he expected from Honda. Lots of power, great handling, comfort for long distance and great looks. Just needs a bigger tank he says.

There it is from the pro's in the real world of motorcycling.

I didn't miss the "satire" you did, I just called you a druggie fag without having to spell it out. But I forgot, it must be spelled out, hence my semi-unlettering, sorry, I'll try to use smaller words and type slower next time. Oh, and I've got some spare change floating around if you'd like some jingle in your pocket......................please, be rude, I'd like an example so I can know the difference next time. Gentle ain't exactly in my repertoire.

    Krispy,

I'm glad you finally found someone to explain the more simple elements of humor.

About the neighbor thing. The distance is roughly the same from my place to Olympia as it is from Santa Barbara to Sacramento when you hauled your bike up and back on a trailer to get the valves adjusted for the price of a case of Bud.. Bout 730 miles round trip at X bucks/mile, comes to ??

Even number crunching can have it's funny moments..

Congrats on the bike, TMausti. Did you go to the dealership with the intention of trading the '07 for the '10? Did you get a good trade-in deal?

Had no intention to trade at all. Had been out riding most of the day and stopped by the dealer to look around. They had just got the 1200 in and after admiring it for a bit, the salesman uttered those fateful words...you want to ride it? That was all it took. Considering the current retail price for a new '07, I came out pretty good on the deal. I actually ended up trading two bikes for it: my '07 and my Meanstreak, which I seldom rode.
