Hey all, some please rescue me.

I am on my 2nd stator from ElectroSport and am having some problems. Has anyone had any problems with an electorsport stator. Per my mechanic he attaches the stator to the Cover no bolts and stator is not grounded. Then when he begins to put the bolts in to screw to cover, the stator grounds out. This is all while he is working with the stator on his work bench (not even on the bike yet). So he is concluding that if the stator is grounding out at that point there is no point fullying installing it in the bike. Tomorrow I am planning on calling Electorsport to see what we can do to rectify the issue, however with my last stator they were only offering a replacement, so we will see if I can get anywhere with them there.

Anyone have any experience with the stator grounding itself out? Any suggestions tips etc????

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

Should the stator ground out when attached to the cover? Or will the Stator become ungrounded once properly installed on the bike?

the stator itself will ground out. if any of the three yellow wires that run to the regulator/rectifier ground out, there's a problem.

run a continuity test (2 at a time) between all three wires both mounted to the cover and unmounted, if there's continuity, there's a problem.

run an Ω (ohm) test between all three wires (again, 2 at a time). you should get between .1 and 1 Ω max.
naturally if any of the wires are grounding out, the Ω test is useless.

thankfully changing the stator nowadays is a "fairly" simple procedure. honda has since made it accessible through the flywheel cover unlike bikes' past when you had to physically remove the engine and crack it in half to access the stator.

whenever i'm doing a stator job (certainly never on my ever so trusty vfr), i lean the bike up against a wall which will allow most of the oil to remain inside the bike. you'll still get a few drips, but you surely won't have to add a full 2-3 quarts.

    enjoy

K, my mechanic ran a series of test, contacted electrosport and they are are sent out a new stator today this one the tested on the spot prior to shipping out. So this stator should arrive in the next few days and we can test it. Thank for the feedback, I will keep you posted.
I appreciate the details testing steps you included on your post.
